Serpentine queues and long wait times at IGIA's choked T3 are plaguing departing flyers at a time when Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) says it has "proactively reduced 22 flights per hour (pre-Covid) to 19 last month" for reducing peak hour load.

Massive overcrowding and chaos at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has led to thousands of complaints from inconvenienced passengers. Many passengers have been complaining on social media that they had to endure long wait times to catch flights.

Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia went on a surprise inspection at Delhi airport on Monday after travellers complained about long queues and delays at the airport. Some even said that it took about 30 minutes only to enter the airport. The minister interacted with officials to understand the reason for the delay. He also talked to passengers.

Following Scindia’s visit, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has come up with an action plan to ease the movement of passengers at IGI Airport here and reduce congestion.
