Video of brave London cop rescuing two children from fire goes viral

The footage of a cop rescuing two children from a fire that broke out in a London train station has gone viral.

The dramatic clip shows the cop carrying the two children, one in each arm, as the explosions occurred in the

Elephant and Castle

tube station in the background.

The cop has been called brave by

netizens

and has been showered by admiration. Many even said the unidentified cop should be recognised by the government and be rewarded.

, dozens of firefighters were present tackling the situation. The cause of the fire still seems to be unknown but is not speculated to be a terror-related fire.

Officers also confirmed the involvement of dangerous chemicals in the fire.

, there are unconfirmed reports that say the fire may have started in one of the arches under the station. “We all had to run out of the shop. I didn’t see how it started,” a mechanic from the shop said.

Other videos of social media also show thick clouds of smoke coming from the area in London where the blast occurred.

London Fire Brigade

deployed 15 fire engines and a total of 100 firefighters to tend to the building ablaze.



Six people were treated by medics on the location and one was hospitalised.

The fire was brought under control around 4 pm, local London time.
