Watch: Video of man singing for Mumbai cops at Marine Drive goes viral

A video of a young man singing ‘Kesariya’ song for two Mumbai police officers at Marine Drive has surfaced online.

Posted on Instagram by the artist named Shiv, the clip shows him performing effortlessly on a street for two young men and two cops from Mumbai Police. He plays the song Kesariya from the recently released Brahamastra on guitar, leaving his audience mesmerized by his voice and rendition.

As per the caption given to the video, the performance was recorded at South Mumbai’s Marine Drive.


Towards the end of the performance, one can see the cop sitting on the motorcycle subtly appreciating Shiv’s soulful voice by smiling. “His smile took me off,” the singer gave a caption to the video.

The video went viral instantly and received over 1.2 lakh likes on Instagram. It garnered close to a million views as well. The heartwarming gesture of playing a song for cops left netizens amazed. They praised the performer as well as Mumbai’s spirit for creating such beautiful moments.

“This is what Mumbai is about,” commented a user named Iyanah Engineer.

“Verified Such purity. Mumbai has it all,” quipped Instagram influencer Nikita Dhongdi Shah.

Later, Mumbai Police also reposted the video on its official Instagram handle, captioning it "Verified Mumbaikar Mumbai Police - a great 'love storiyan' indeed!"


The video also found its way onto other social media platforms.


On Twitter, Mumbai Police reacted to the video shared by a Twitter user, where the user asked if Mumbai Police can come to Chennai.
