Monkeys may have reasoning abilities similar to primitive humans to put themselves in another's shoes, many studies have stated. Researchers have claimed that intelligent animals such as apes can intuit others' intentions, suggesting they have some theory of mind capability.
In fact, ever since researchers sequenced the chimp genome in 2005, they have known that humans share about 99% of our DNA with chimpanzees, making them our closest living relatives.
Now a video posted by industrialist and chairperson of RPG group Harsh Goenka proves that right. It shows three monkeys browsing through a smartphone, scrolling the gadget like a pro.
The now-viral clip posted on Twitter by Goenka captioned as ‘Digital literacy for all’ shows a person holding a cell phone as a bunch of monkeys intriguingly look into the screen and scroll it up and down through the device amazed by what they are seeing.
The 30-second video shows monkeys inquisitively seeing the functions of the smartphone and moving from one screen to another, completely riveted by what they are seeing.
The video has been doing the rounds on the internet for quite some time and was previously shared by Tisha Dogra.
The clip garnered a lot of attention and went viral leaving netizens amazed. The social media users found it too funny to ignore.
“Charles Darwin would be happy,” quipped a user.
Another user stated that monkeys should be absorbed into society. “I strongly feel that the "Hominoidea" , apes and monkeys should be used and absorbed into society, for the military to everything else they can be evolved and trained to do mind blowing stuff. Why make a robot when evolution has given u a better one, u r ancestors..(sic),” he wrote.
While some even joked how it looked like they were using dating apps.
