‘Ye Corona kahe khatam nahi hota be’: Netizens post gloomy memes as Coronavirus makes a comeback

Over the past 24 hours, India has logged 5,880 coronavirus cases, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday. The country also saw 14 deaths due to the virus.


Delhi health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday said Covid cases in the national capital were likely to rise in the coming days as a result of the city's high population density. On Sunday, the city logged 699 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths.

XBB.1.16, the Omicron recombinant behind the surge in India's Covid cases, is picking up additional mutations on its spike and this could help it gain further growth advantage, top experts tracking mutations in the SARS-CoV-2 virus told TOI.
