Yash Chopra is a legend. 'Is' and not 'was' because legends don't die. The latest offering from Yash Raj after the Shah Rukh Khan-led 'Pathaan' titled 'The Romantics' is a recently released web show on Netflix, which you can say is a docu-drama, rather, a celebration of Yash Chopra.
It does not shy away from anything. When they show you that he chose to walk away from the BR Chopra stable- another legend- you know that this series is a real treat.
It talks about all his movies. All those ventures which we have seen and cherished. You can vividly make out from this Smriti Mundhra-directed show that it was 'Daag' that made Yash Chopra.
See it. We were privy to two episodes last night at the YRF Studios, which is Yash Chopra's gift to Aditya Chopra who asked for it when his father asked him what he wanted in his life from him.
And by the way, Shah Rukh Khan had introduced the Parmeet Sethi bashing scene in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. Post that, he kept asking/wondering when Aditya Chopra would give him an action film. 'Pathaan' wrote history, and the rest too, as they say, is history.
Rishi Kapoor's comment in ' The Romantics' takes the cake. The late actor told Mundhra, "After sex, cinema is the only best form of entertainment." We recommend it. And of course, there are several actors- junior and senior- who talk about Yash Chopra. We recommend it, once again.
