Faisal Malik reveals 'Panchayat' cast salaries: ‘They pay in segments, increase your fees in the next season only if…’

Panchayat’s growing popularity with each new season has sparked widespread curiosity about the salaries of its actors. As the show reached a larger audience on Prime Video, numerous media outlets began speculating about the fees earned by the cast members.

Reported Salaries of Panchayat Actors

According to a Business Standards report, Jitendra Kumar tops the cast earnings of 'Panchayat', receiving Rs 70,000 for each episode. Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav follow, earning Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 per episode, respectively. Meanwhile, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy reportedly make around Rs 20,000 per episode. These figures mirror those shared during the launch of Season 3. Based on these numbers, Jitendra Kumar’s total income for Seasons 3 and 4 is estimated at Rs 5.6 lakh per season, with Neena Gupta earning Rs 4 lakh and Raghubir Yadav Rs 3.2 lakh per season. Despite this, many fans remain doubtful about the accuracy of these reported salaries.


Faisal Malik on Payment Discussions

Faisal Malik, popularly known for his role as Prahlad Cha, recently discussed how payment negotiations happen for the show. He reminisced about when he was initially contacted for the project. During an appearance on The Raunac Podcast, he mentioned, “The discussion about money starts after you agree to do the project.” Although he didn’t disclose his exact earnings, he assured everyone by saying, “Sab acha tha.”

The Multi-Segment Payment Process

He went on to describe the payment process used by producers. According to him, “Payments happen in various ways. Some pay on per day basis, some pay the total. Ideally, the structure that the corporates are following today: They divide salaries per day wise. They divide your fees with the number of days you are going to work on the project. Then they convert it into installments. They pay certain amount at the time of signing. Then starting of the shoot, followed by middle of the shoot, end of the shoot, end of dubbing and eventually after release. They pay in about five segments. This takes over a year. Until your show is not released, you don’t receive your final payment.”

Fee Increases Depend on Contract Clauses

Faisal dispelled the rumours by explaining that producers only raise an actor’s pay if it’s explicitly included in the original contract. He stated, "They increase your fees only if you have made them write it in your contact. The performance of the show doesn’t really change anything.” With a laugh, he added, “I had added this clause in my contact. Sab acha hai.”

Panchayat Season 5: What to Expect

'Panchayat Season 5' is confirmed for a 2026 Prime Video release, following Season 4's massive success. The beloved cast returns, including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav. Writing is underway, with filming expected by late 2025.
