With his incredibly well-made films over the years that have gained recognition on a global scale, Rahat Kazmi has carved out a niche for himself. He is one of the few current filmmakers whose works have achieved back-to-back successes. Yet he won't stop, as both audiences and reviewers have responded so well to his flicks. But what sets him apart is that most of his movies feature strong female protagonists going up against the patriarchal culture.
His internationally acclaimed film "AM I NEXT," which stars Anushka Sen, has won numerous awards. The movie tells the true story of a teen girl who was raped and then had to fight a protracted legal battle to get the right to end her pregnancy. The movie is part of an international effort to defend women's and children's rights everywhere! The trailer of the film released on International Women's Day and ever since the audience is loving it.
Speaking of the same Rahat Kazmi said, "After success of Lihaaf and Lines with Hina Khan, all my advisers advised me to only direct those film which have big scale and budget, but I thought this film has a big heart and an incredibly story to tell. Apart from doing all those projects I chose to do Am I next and I am happy that Zee 5 is releasing this film. I hope the audience will love it".
Apart from Anushka Sen, Swaroopa Ghosh and Mir Sarwar play important roles in the film. NSD veteran Neelu Dogra, Tariq Khan, Pankaj Khajuria, Rajeev Rana and Satish Bhat will also be seen in pivotal roles, along with Pooja Dargan, Monica Agarwal and Ritu Rajput in supporting roles. AM I NEXT is slated to stream globally from March 17.
