Not everyone enjoys the barrage of sugar loaded content that rule the OTT space when New Year is around the corner. While some of us would love nothing more than to curl up in bed, watching the 100th re run of our favourite show, the others might a penchant for all things dark and twisted (content wise we mean!) If sappy romances just ain't your thing, then this New Year, watch these crime docu dramas instead...

Crime Stories: India Detectives

The docu-series follows police investigation as a series of spine chilling crimes rock the Karnataka capital, Bengaluru. The edgy, fast paced thriller follows four major criminal investigations from the time the crime is reported until the suspect is arrested. You can watch the series on Netflix.

House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths

Based on the spine chilling, suspected mass suicide of 11 members in the Burari district of New Delhi, the series takes a closer look at the deep rooted superstition that engulfed the Chundawat family. As per police reports, the middle-class family was under the influence of a 'shared psychosis' that brainwashed them to take their own life, in order to attain eternal salvation and meet their father again, who had passed away a couple of years ago. Available on Netflix.

Delhi Riots — A tale of Burn & Blame

This documentary by Kamlesh K Mishra takes a closer look at the communal violence that rocked North East Delhi in 2020. As eye witnesses give chilling accounts of mass murders, bloodshed and violence that took place right in front of them, the documentary also simultaneously examines the horror that loved ones relive everyday, in one of India's most mindless violence that led to loss of more than 500 lives. Following the cult of Osho Rajneesh, that started in India and eventually moved to Oregon, US in the 1980s, the series tracks the life of one of the most controversial spiritual gurus of the country, that amassed lakhs of followers, not just in India and US but all across the world. As Osho gets more and more powerful, his disciples, including the then young Ma Sheela begins to get obsessed with him and reportedly takes to crime to wipe out her competition.
