He revealed the break is primarily due to a backlog of writing projects he couldn't pursue for six years. While acknowledging minor health concerns, Khan assured fans he's committed to performing for years to come.
A couple of weeks back, famed comedian Zakir Khan announced that he was taking a step back from comedy. Soon rumours started doing the rounds, citing his health as the reason for his hiatus. Reacting to the same, recently the comedian declared, “Tumne jo internet pe padha hai woh jhooth hai bhai” (whatever you have read on the internet is false). He shared that he is in good health, unlike some of the rumours and false claims that have been circulating online. Read on to know more about the situation.

In a recent appearance, the comedian shared that there have been a lot of rumours circulating about his sabbatical from comedy, which he felt the need to address. He shared that one of the main reasons behind announcing the break comes from the influx of writing projects. At a recent public appearance, he stated, “Mere paas writing ka bahut kaam aa gaya tha, jo mai pichle 6 saal se kar nai pa raha tha” (I had received a lot of writing projects recently, something which I hadn’t been able to do in the past 6 years.)

He further added that “Health thodi se kharab hai, bahut zyada kharab nai hai. Tumne jo internet pe padha hai woh jhooth hai, bhai. Mai stage minus 20 pe hoon” (My health is a little bad, not a lot. Whatever you have read on the internet is false. I am at stage minus 20.) Khan further clarified that he and his entire family were left wondering about who all spread the rumors online and cited that many people were making false claims about how the news had come from a ‘close source.He then concluded his statement by saying, “Jabtak zinda hoon, aapki khidmat mein hoon” (I am at your service till my last breath.)

He added, “I've been touring for many years now… It's time for me to look after my health. I've tried to balance work and health, but I need a time out to manage things. But I love to perform; I want to do it when I'm 80, which means I need to do this now.”Over the years, Zakir Khan has made a name for himself in the comedy scene and has even featured in a multitude of OTT reality comedy shows. Some of these include ‘Comicstaan’, ‘Aapka Apna Zakir’, ‘India's Best Stand Up’, and ‘Zakir Khan: Delulu Express.’
