Actor Kim Min Kyu scheduled to begin mandatory military service on April 1

Actor Kim Min Kyu, renowned for his performances across numerous popular dramas, is gearing up to fulfill his mandatory military service. His agency, Companion Company, officially announced on March 20 via his fan cafe that Kim Min Kyu is set to enlist as an active-duty soldier on April 1.


In a statement released to his dedicated fan base, Companion Company conveyed, "Actor Kim Min Kyu will commence his military service as an active-duty soldier on April 1. There will be no separate official event held on the day of his entry into the training center. We kindly ask for understanding as the admission will be conducted privately to ensure safety and prevent on-site congestion", as reported by AllKpop.

"We deeply appreciate the love and support from fans, and we hope for Kim Min Kyu's faithful fulfillment of his military duties, returning in a more mature and healthy state", the agency further expressed.


From his debut in the 2013 drama 'Monstar' to his roles in hit series such as 'Signal', 'Because This is My First Life', 'Perfume', 'Queen: Love and War', 'Backstreet Rookie', and 'Snowdrop', the actor has been showing his undeniable talent by portraying each character with finesse. Particularly, his portrayal of Cha Sung Hoon, the chief of staff to Go Food CEO Kang Tae Moo, in the 2022 drama 'Business Proposal' garnered widespread praise, propelling him further into the spotlight.
