The Korean Film Archive (KOFA) is set to bring the magic of Indian cinema to Korean audiences with a dedicated film festival from November 26 to November 30. Held at the Cinematheque KOFA theatre in Seoul’s Mapo District, the event promises a captivating exploration of the diversity and storytelling brilliance synonymous with Indian cinema.
Jointly organised by the Embassy of India in Seoul and the Indian Cultural Centre, the festival seeks to foster cultural exchange between Korea and India through the universal language of cinema. Since 2016, KOFA has partnered with these organisations to introduce modern Indian cinema to Korean audiences, showcasing films that often go unseen in commercial theatres in Korea.

The epic saga Baahubali (2015), a masterpiece of myth and grandeur.
The recent hit Kantara (2022), rooted in Indian folklore and tradition.
Laapataa Ladies (2023), a fresh take on modern womanhood in India.
Three of Us (2022), an intimate portrayal of a family dealing with early dementia.
Dangal (2016), Aamir Khan’s inspiring biographical drama about a father’s quest to train his daughters as wrestlers, celebrating empowerment and perseverance.

These films reflect the depth and variety of Indian storytelling, offering Korean audiences a chance to experience both blockbuster successes and nuanced, critically acclaimed art films.
