Kim Seon Ho's abortion scadal to Kris Wu's rape allegations: Korean superstars courting controversies

Kim Seon Ho, star of the romantic drama 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha' has been in the eye of a social media storm after allegedly forcing his ex-girlfriend to abort their child and for even gaslighting her. While he may be the latest celebrity witnessing his fall from superstardom, he is not alone. His case is one of several scandals that have roiled South Korea's entertainment industry in recent months. South Korean actor Kim Seon Ho, popular for his role in 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha' hit a bump in the road after he admitted that he was 'Actor K' in the recent abortion scandal. While fans still come to terms with the fact that the allegations against the actor were true, Kim Seon Ho went on record to admit his wrongdoings and even issued an apology to his ex-girlfriend and fans. " I would like to genuinely apologize to her through this statement. I apologize for also disappointing all of those who trusted and supported me until the end," he wrote.

Despite his apology, the actor has since been dropped from multiple film and television projects.

Korean pop idol Kris Wu of the band EXO rocked headlines in August after he was accused of drugging and raping minor girls. Du Meizhu, an internet influencer, who claimed to be his girlfriend, alleged that the star lured underage girls to have sex by claiming he was recruiting actresses, as per Global Times.

Following the news break, other girls also came forward under conditions of anonymity to share their stories of abuse at the hands of Kris Wu. While one made rape allegations against the star, another recalled how she was invited to his party where she was drugged and sexually assaulted.

The controversy has been drawing widespread condemnation leading to luxury brands cutting off ties with him. Meanwhile, the star could face up to 10 years in jail following a thorough police probe in the matter.

Disgraced K-pop star Seungri of the band, BIGBANG was sentenced to three years in prison in August by the South Korean military court. The star was found guilty on nine counts of arranging sex services for potential investors in his business, as well as overseas gambling at luxurious casinos in Las Vegas involving illicit foreign exchange transactions. Seungri was also fined 1.15 billion won ($989,000). According to reports, the K-Pop star was expected to appeal the sentence as he had denied the charges during his 10-month-long trial.

WayV band member Lucas, found himself in the eye of a social media storm after his alleged ex-girlfriends spilled details about his private life. After three ladies accused the star of taking money from them, and even alleged harassment, an ex-lover, claimed in a post that Lucas' love for his fans is 'fake'. In her shocking note, she wrote, "He actually thinks of his fans as his concubines and used their love for him."

Amidst the cheating allegations, Lucas posted an apology on his handle saying, "Looking back on my past behaviour, it was definitely wrong, and I was irresponsibly throwing away the support fans have given me for a long time."

Kim Han Bin, popularly known as B.I from the K-pop band iKON, made headlines the world over when he admitted to charges of illegal marijuana usage, and purchasing illegal LSD. According to reports on Korean news portals, B.I's legal representative said that the star is 'deeply reflecting on himself' and the 'disturbance' he caused as a public figure. His legal reps relayed that the star was only a teenager (19 years) at the time of his drug use.

"I will never repeat a foolish mistake like this again. I will continue to reflect on myself. I want to protect those I cherish," he said in court.

Meanwhile, the prosecution demanded a sentence of 3 years in prison and a fine of 1.5 million KRW (estimated USD 1,300).

Veteran actor Kim Yong Gun, the father of Korean star Ha Jung Woo, has found himself in a scandal involving premarital pregnancy and alleged 'forced abortion'.

According to reports on Dispatch, the 76-year-old actor faced legal changes from his 37-year-old lover after he allegedly forced her to abort their child. Kim Yong Gun reportedly met the lady when she was 24 and has since been in a relationship with her for 13 years, up until her pregnancy this past March.

Amidst backlash, he broke his silence on the scandal and said, "I will take all responsibility for the childcare."
