Lee Jin Wook, Song Kang, Go Min Si, and more tackle individual struggles in 'Sweet Home 3'
Netflix’s popular series “Sweet Home” is back with its third season, and fans are in for a treat! This show, based on a webtoon of the same name, follows the intense journey of a high school loner who moves into a new apartment just as monsters start wreaking havoc on humanity. The residents find themselves trapped inside the building, battling for survival.
Season 3 takes the drama to new heights, exploring the complex emotions and character developments that come with a world shifting from monsterization to a new human era. Director Lee Eung Bok shared insights about the evolution of the series, highlighting how this season delves deeper into each character's journey.
“While Season 2 focused on people facing crisis and being trapped while fighting against monsters, Season 3 delves deeper into character development, delicately delivering all different emotions as the mysterious events are resolved,” he said. Fans can look forward to seeing Sang Wook (Lee Jin Wook) grappling with his dark side, Hyun Su (Song Kang) struggling to maintain his humanity, Yi Kyung (Lee Si Young) protecting Kid (Kim Si Ah), and Tak In Hwan (Yoo Oh Sung) upholding his sense of duty.
He further added, “Viewers can anticipate each character’s unique way of fighting the crisis—from Sang Wook (Lee Jin Wook) who has become evil, to Hyun Su (Song Kang) who struggles to retain his humanity, Yi Kyung (Lee Si Young) who tries to protect Kid (Kim Si Ah), and Tak In Hwan (Yoo Oh Sung) who tries to protect people with a sense of duty.”
The cast members have also shared their excitement for the upcoming season. Lee Jin Wook describes the new season as a quest for balance during a chaotic transition, while Lee Si Young emphasizes the themes of the birth and evolution of new humans. Go Min Si, who plays Eun Yu, hints at “desperate yet intense action scenes” that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Jung Jinyoung, portraying Chan Yeong, expressed his dedication to filming the series finale with a sense of duty. He shared, “Being able to join Season 3, the finale of the series, I filmed with a sense of duty. It was a precious and meaningful project.” Yoo Oh Sung reflected on the significance of “Sweet Home” in his career, mentioning, “‘Sweet Home’ allowed me to reflect deeply on my life as an actor.” Oh Jung Se, who plays Dr. Lim, and Kim Moo Yeol, portraying Yeong Hoo, both expressed their gratitude for being part of such a talented team and contributing to a project with a vast worldview.
