With exciting titles like ‘Lovely Runner’, ‘The Frog’, ‘The Tyrant’, and ‘Love Next Door’, your binge-watching plans are about to get a serious upgrade. Here’s the lowdown on all the exciting K-dramas coming to OTT this August!

​The Tyrant

In the series ‘Tyrant’, South Korea's top-secret biochemical research program faces disaster when US intelligence uncovers its existence, forcing an abrupt shutdown. Amidst the chaos, a covert operation to transfer the last of the bioenhancers to the US government goes awry, resulting in the disappearance of the crucial sample. Cha Seung-won stars as Im Sang, a former agent turned ruthless hitman assigned to erase anyone connected to the Tyrant project. As tensions rise, it’s revealed that Director Choi, played by Kim Seon-ho, has taken the missing sample and continues the illicit research with his team, operating entirely off the books. ‘Tyrant’ premieres August 14 on Disney+.

​Love Next Door

In this romantic comedy, Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min star as childhood friends who unexpectedly cross paths again as adults. Their early bond, formed through their mothers' friendship, was strong, but life took them in different directions. Now, Choi Seung-hyo, a successful and admired architect, struggles with unresolved issues from his past despite his seemingly perfect life. Meanwhile, Bae Seok-ryu, a high-powered product manager, leaves her prestigious job and returns to her hometown, where she rekindles her connection with Seung-hyo. ‘Love Next Door’ premieres on Netflix on August 17.

​Pachinko Season 2


Based on Min Jin Lee’s popular novel, ‘Pachinko’ revolves around the lives of a Korean family across generations, with a focus on the resilient matriarch, Sun-ja, portrayed by Kim Min-ha and Youn Yuh-jung. As the second season begins, it continues from the dramatic events of the first, depicting Sun-ja’s family's fight for survival in war-torn Osaka during the 1940s. Simultaneously, in 1989, her grandson Solomon faces his own challenges, trying to rebuild his life after a critical business deal goes awry. ‘Pachinko’ Season 2 premieres on August 23 exclusively on Apple TV+.

​The Frog

In the thrilling series ‘The Frog’, Yoon Kye-sang and Kim Yun-seok play two pension owners from different eras who encounter eerily similar disturbances. Set in the summer of 2000, Yoon Kye-sang’s character, Gu Sang-jun, manages a small motel in a remote area, while Kim Yun-seok’s Jeon Yeong-ha operates a pension in the present day. Both men’s lives are upended by the arrival of a mysterious woman, played by Go Min-si, leading them to make drastically different choices. Featuring Lee Jung-eun, and EXO’s Chanyeol, ‘The Frog’ promises suspenseful twists and turns when it premieres on Netflix on August 23.

​No Gain No Love

In ‘No Gain No Love’, Shin Min-a stars as Son Hae-young, a shrewd woman determined to avoid financial loss at all costs. Facing the risk of losing a job promotion, Hae-young devises a scheme to stage a fake wedding for her colleagues and superiors. Kim Young-dae plays Kim Ji-wook, a compassionate convenience store worker who has trouble turning down requests and is cherished by his customers. When Hae-young recruits Ji-wook to be her pretend groom, he gets entangled in a complex and unexpected situation. ‘No Gain No Love’ premieres August 26 on Amazon Prime Video in select regions.

​Lovely Runner

After winning hearts on Viki and TVN, the beloved K-drama ‘Lovely Runner’ is making its way to Netflix, offering fans a delightful start to the month. The series follows Ryu Seon Jae, played by Byeon Woo Seok, a South Korean idol overwhelmed by the pressures of fame. Following his untimely death, one of his most devoted fans, Im Sol, portrayed by Kim Hye Yoon, is mysteriously transported fifteen years into the past. Determined to alter his tragic fate, she takes on the challenge of changing his future. ‘Lovely Runner’ premieres on August 1, bringing a blend of heartfelt and sweet drama to its new streaming home.

​Romance in the House

The series centers on Byun Moo Jin (Ji Jin Hee), a former ambitious businessman whose failed ventures led to familial strain and ultimately his divorce from his wife, Geum Ae Yeon (Kim Jee Soo). Years later, their children, Mi Rae (Son Na Eun) and Hyun Jae (Yoon San Ha), have grown up under different circumstances: Mi Rae is determined to support her struggling mother, while Hyun Jae has become the family's troublemaker. Their lives take a dramatic turn when Moo Jin returns as the new owner of their apartment building, seeking to mend his relationship with Ae Yeon. While Mi Rae is fiercely opposed to his return, Hyun Jae is more open to the possibility of family reconciliation. New episodes will be available on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday, starting August 10.
