Why Roadies won’t be the same without Raghu and Rajiv

Roadies, one of the most adventurous but adult rated reality show on MTV is known as much for its creators Raghu and Rajiv as it is known for its abusive content. Often looked down by parents and social observers for the use of abusive language on the show, Roadies has been there and ruled the reality television scene since twelve years. However, the twin brothers have bid goodbye to the show paving way for celebrities like Esha Deol and Vijender Singh to occupy the judges’ block. Know why Roadies may not be the same anymore without the dreaded duo.

Abuses - Roadies is often despised for its abusive content. From auditions in metros and cities like Chandigarh and Pune, no episode is over without beeps censoring the abuses hurled by the judges Raghu and Rajiv. Jokes are cracked on the abuses being replaced with beeps frequently. Neither the viewers nor the participants expect Rajiv and Raghu to speak a few lines without a beep here and there. Without them, Roadies may not be the same ever again.

Scary presence - Roadies has been hosted by VJ Rannvijay Singha since years but the moment Raghu and Rajiv arrive on the scene, the mood changes. The duo is dreaded by not just the participants but also by the viewers. Their arrival is marked with terror on the show and is usually accompanied with a bad news. Without the presence of the dreaded duo, Roadies may not be as scary with another judge.

Suspense and thrill - Roadies is the brainchild of Raghu and Rajiv. With suspense and thrill at every juncture, each episode is filled with unseen twists and turns least expected by the participants or the viewers. The identical twins, who are seldom differentiated from each other by the viewers, keep the suspense on an all time high with their unplanned twists and climaxes that bring about unexpected situations on the show.

Strict attitude -The mere presence of Raghu and Rajiv calls for a strict environment where mercy is passé and the participants pull up their socks to face the tough attitude of the twin brothers. Raghu and Rajiv keep the mood tense with their non-casual behaviour and stern looks. A wink or a smile on their faces turns out to be the calm before a storm and hints at tough times ahead. No matter how strict the new judges are, they cannot be as tough and dangerous as the twin brothers.

Punishments - While the participants try to adhere to the rules, disobedience calls for punishment, which often fades away the smiles from the faces of the Roadies contestants. From being hit on private parts to getting waxed, the boys have undergone acute pain as a part of tasks on the reality show. Time and again, Raghu and Rajiv have devised hair-raising punishments for the law breakers. Without them, the show may never be the same again.

Extraordinary appeal - Roadies is a 'one of its kind' reality show with a unique concept that changes without a hint. Despite the criticism by the keepers of society or parents and guardians, Roadies has never given to pressure. The readiness with which Raghu and Rajiv have enjoyed their criticism is praiseworthy. Raghu and Rajiv have themselves risen from failures in real life and therefore they inspire the youth like no other.

Face reading - None other than Raghu and Rajiv can identify a participant in one glimpse. The twin brothers have acquired the skill of unmistakable judgement over more than a decade and can point out a lie easily. What makes the show’s auditions across the country worth watching is their sense of judgement that leaves the viewers in awe. None other than the twin dudes can pick a fake from a series of originals in a jiffy.

Short temper - It’s hard to imagine if any other celebrity can display such a short temper as boasted by Raghu and Rajiv. The dreaded brothers create panic with their sudden anger and can reduce a participant to tears within a few seconds. The brothers have often been seen on the verge of going violent during the auditions which is enough to make the participants nervous.

Identity - Several youths stand in long queues to give their auditions for Roadies. Even after rejection, they hop from city to city, year after year to try their luck. The cult reality show is identified with the identical twins - Raghu and Rajiv - and their presence pulls the candidates to the auditions. Dreaded for their short temper and their powerful attitude, Raghu and Rajiv can be hated but not ignored. Their presence is the USP of the show and without them, Roadies may be on the verge of losing its identity.
