French foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot arrived in Rwanda on Thursday to address the crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with President Paul Kagame. He urged the withdrawal of Rwandan troops, who are accused of supporting the M23 armed group in the region. Earlier, Barrot met DRC President Felix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa. The M23 has pledged to continue its advance towards Kinshasa after taking control of Goma, while French President Macron called for an end to the fighting.
