Watch: Fire erupts again at Fujairah port in UAE, harbour suspends oil loadings
A fire broke out at the Fujairah port in the UAE after the harbour was hit once again by a drone attack.
According to the video, thick plumes of smoke could be seen rising into the sky from the area following the strike. The port had suspended oil loadings and damage is being assessed, according to Bloomberg.
In an official statement, the Fujairah Government Media Office confirmed that the fire erupted at a petroleum industry facility.
Authorities confirmed that specialised emergency teams responded quickly and managed to contain fire at the site. Officials said no injuries were reported in the incident.
Civil defence units were immediately deployed to the scene and began containment operations, while emergency services continued working to fully control the situation.
The latest strike comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
The port has been targeted multiple times in recent days, with earlier drone strikes triggering fires at oil storage facilities and disrupting some loading operations.
Fujairah port is considered one of the world’s most important oil storage and bunkering hubs. Located on the Gulf of Oman and outside the Strait of Hormuz, it allows the United Arab Emirates to export crude oil without relying on the narrow waterway that carries a large share of global oil supplies.
Because of its strategic location and role in global energy trade, the port holds major economic and security importance for the UAE and international markets.
