The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated on Saturday after Lebanon drones targeted Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's house in Caesarea. "A UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) was launched toward the prime minister's residence in Caesarea. PepsiCo and Coke bottlers in the West Bank are running out of cans and sugar, blocked by the prolonged closure of a Jordan border crossing, managers of two soda-bottling plants in the occupied Palestinian territory said.
In the latest global supply chain snarl due to the conflict in the Middle East, a crucial trade crossing at the Allenby bridge has been largely closed to commercial traffic since early September after a Jordanian gunman shot and killed three Israeli civilians, as per Reuters.
Sugar and cans previously were transported to West Bank bottlers from Jordan via the bridge, according to Hatim Omari, manager of a plant that bottles Pepsi, 7UP and Mirinda for sale in the Palestinian territories and neighboring countries.
The Pepsi facility, located in Jericho, ran out of materials for its canned soft drinks about 15 days ago, Omari said, and has not been able to get new shipments of cans or sugar for more than one month. Its sugar came from Saudi Arabia, he said.

Macron was quoted as saying in a cabinet meeting Tuesday that Israel "must not forget" it owed its existence to a United Nations resolution after its troops fired on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
The comment sparked a furious reaction from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding to growing tensions between France and Israel, and also troubled Jewish community figures within France.
"It first of all shows an ignorance of the history of the birth of the State of Israel," Gerard Larcher, the right-wing speaker of the upper house, told Europe 1 radio.
"Questioning the existence of Israel touches on fundamental questions for me," he said.

Israel issues new evacuation call for east Lebanon's Bekaa region
The Israeli military on Thursday ordered residents to leave part of the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, warning that the area would again be targeted by Israeli forces.

Israel's latest bombardment of Hezbollah targets caused widespread destruction in southern Lebanon, ahead of US and Israeli strikes in the wider region Thursday.

Iran calls US THAAD system delivery to Israel 'psychological warfare'
Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh dismissed the recent U.S. delivery of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-ballistic missile system to Israel, labeling it part of "the enemy's psychological warfare." Speaking to reporters on Wednesday during a weekly cabinet meeting in Tehran, Nasirzadeh downplayed the significance of the deployment, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, as reported by Xinhua.
"The THAAD is an anti-ballistic missile system, something that has existed before. We view these actions as part of the enemy's psychological tactics. There is no particular concern from our side," he said.

Syria state media says Israeli air strike hits Latakia
Syrian state media said Thursday an Israeli air strike hit the coastal city of Latakia, targeting a weapons depot according to a war monitor.
"Anti-aircraft defence intercepted hostile targets above Latakia," SANA said without mentioning casualties or damage.
The news agency reported "fires were triggered by the Israeli aggression" at the entrance to Latakia, a stronghold of President Bashar al-Assad.
The government is allied to Hezbollah, which is at war with Israel in neighbouring Lebanon.
The Israeli military, which has launched hundreds of strikes in Syria in recent years, would not comment on the Latakia bombardment when contacted by AFP.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor, said the Israeli raid "targeted a weapons depot in Latakia city".
