Iran has unveiled a new high-speed naval attack craft named “27 Rajab”, according to the country’s semi-official Fars news agency.
The vessel was showcased during a ceremony at Tehran’s Enqelab Square and is reportedly capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 knots, or around 185 kilometres per hour.
Fars reported that the craft can also fire long-range cruise missiles, describing its induction as a demonstration of Iran’s expanding maritime military capabilities.
US defence secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington is in a “good place” to reach an agreement with Iran to end the war, describing ongoing negotiations as “productive”.
Speaking in Singapore, Hegseth stressed that President Donald Trump would only approve a deal if he believes it serves US interests and global security. He also said Iran is fully aware of the steps it must take for an agreement to be finalised.
