Iran’s foreign ministry said that there are currently no exchanges with the United States over the details of its nuclear programme.

“We know when it is necessary to act on nuclear matters. No negotiations have taken place on the details of the nuclear file. At this stage, our priority is ending the war,” foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said during a weekly press briefing.

The remarks underscore Tehran’s position that discussions with Washington are not focused on the technical aspects of Iran’s nuclear programme at this stage, with officials reiterating that their immediate priority is ending the ongoing conflict.

Iran’s foreign ministry said that the United States had violated the ceasefire following strikes on a southern port that triggered a brief military escalation.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said during a weekly press briefing that “the United States is also violating the ceasefire including this morning,” according to AFP.

He added that Iran would “take whatever measures we deem necessary to defend Iran’s national security,” signalling the possibility of a response amid renewed tensions.

The statement comes after a reported flare-up between the two sides following the recent strikes and ongoing regional instability.

Iran’s foreign ministry said that a ceasefire in Lebanon remains a key condition for any agreement with the United States.

“We insist that a ceasefire in Lebanon is an essential condition for any deal aimed at ending the war,” foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said during a weekly press briefing, according to AFP.

His remarks came as Israel continues to expand its offensive in Lebanon, amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Iran.

An Israeli soldier was killed and three others were wounded in a Hezbollah drone attack in southern Lebanon overnight, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The military identified the slain soldier as Adam Tzarfati, 20, a member of the Maglan Unit within the Commando Brigade, from Rosh HaAyin.

The IDF said that at around 1 a.m., an explosive-laden first-person-view (FPV) drone launched by Hezbollah struck a military position near the town of Yohmor, close to Beaufort Castle, where Israeli troops were operating.

The attack killed Tzarfati and seriously wounded another soldier. Two additional troops sustained light injuries, according to the military.

The wounded soldiers were evacuated by helicopter to a hospital for treatment, and their families were informed, the IDF said.

The Israeli military has issued evacuation warnings for residents of the Lebanese towns of Mlikh and Kfarhounah, saying it plans to carry out operations in the areas.

In a post in Arabic on social media, the military said it would soon “act forcefully” against Hezbollah targets in and around the two towns.

Residents were instructed to immediately leave their homes and move at least 1,000 metres away from the villages to open areas until further notice.

The warning comes amid ongoing cross-border tensions and military exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Israeli military said it intercepted a rocket launched from Lebanon toward the Upper Galilee.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), an interceptor missile was also fired at what appeared to be a Hezbollah drone over the Kiryat Shmona area. The military said the outcome of that interception is still being assessed.

Separately, the IDF said it carried out a strike on a Hezbollah rocket launcher that was allegedly used to fire rockets toward Tiberias overnight. No further details were immediately provided.

US President Donald Trump said Iran is eager to reach an agreement with Washington and expressed confidence that any eventual deal would benefit both the United States and its allies.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticised Democrats and some Republicans for publicly weighing in on the negotiations, arguing that constant commentary makes it harder for him to negotiate effectively.

"Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us. But don’t the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively ‘chirping,’ at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever," Trump wrote.

The US president urged critics to refrain from second-guessing his approach, adding: "Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end - It always does!"

The United Arab Emirates condemned the entry of Israeli settlers into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under Israeli police protection and criticised the raising of the Israeli flag at the site, describing the actions as a provocation and an unacceptable act of extremism.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it strongly denounced the incident and stressed the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque while ensuring the protection of all religious sites.

The ministry also reaffirmed its support for Jordan’s custodial role in overseeing Islamic endowments and managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It expressed full solidarity with measures taken by Jordan to safeguard and preserve sites of religious significance and called on Israeli authorities to stop what it described as escalatory actions.

The UAE further warned against steps that could fuel regional instability and reiterated its rejection of practices that violate international resolutions and existing agreements, saying such actions risk further escalation.

Air raid sirens were activated across parts of northern Israel, including the Western Galilee region and the town of Kiryat Shmona, according to the YNet news outlet. Sirens were also heard in nearby communities.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said it carried out what it described as self-defence strikes on Iranian radar and drone command-and-control facilities in southern Iran over the weekend, following what it called “aggressive Iranian actions.”

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island on Saturday and Sunday local time. The operation followed the reported shootdown of a US MQ-1 drone that Washington said was operating over international waters.

CENTCOM said US fighter aircraft responded swiftly, destroying Iranian air defence systems, a drone ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that it said posed a threat to vessels operating in regional waters.

The command described the strikes as “measured and deliberate” and said they were conducted in self-defence. It added that no US service members were injured and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting American assets and interests during the ongoing ceasefire.

Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its air defence units had shot down a US MQ-1 drone after it allegedly entered Iranian airspace early on Sunday. According to Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency, the drone was detected by surveillance systems and destroyed using advanced air defence missiles.

The IRGC claimed the aircraft was conducting hostile operations and defended the action as a response to what it described as a violation of Iranian sovereignty.

The developments come amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that military action could resume if any future agreement fails to meet US conditions, stating that American forces remain prepared for further operations.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has reportedly returned a proposed agreement with Iran for additional revisions. According to Axios, cited by CBS News, Trump requested multiple changes during a meeting on Friday and has since sought further modifications, while also saying he is in “no hurry” to finalize a deal.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that its aerospace force targeted an air base allegedly used in a US attack on a telecommunications tower on Sirik Island.

In a statement, the IRGC said the operation was carried out in response to what it described as a US strike on the island, but it did not identify the location of the air base it claimed to have targeted.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington following a series of military exchanges in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has regained access to a large portion of its underground missile network after months of excavation and repair work, underscoring what analysts describe as the limitations of a bombing strategy focused on sealing tunnel entrances, according to a CNN report.

Satellite imagery reviewed by CNN showed that Iranian forces have reopened 50 of the 69 tunnel entrances struck by US and Israeli attacks across 18 underground missile facilities. The strikes were intended to restrict access to missile stockpiles by destroying access roads and burying key tunnel entrances.

The report said Iran used relatively basic equipment, including bulldozers and dump trucks, to remove debris and restore access. Repair efforts continued despite repeated strikes on excavation machinery during the conflict.

Experts cited by CNN said the developments highlight the resilience of Iran’s missile infrastructure. Sam Lair, a research associate at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, said Iran remains capable of launching missiles as long as it retains operational launchers and trained crews.

“There is little preventing Iran from arming launchers with missiles from its existing stockpile, even if production has been disrupted,” Lair said.

According to CNN, although Iran’s missile launch rate declined significantly during the conflict, Tehran continued firing missiles by gradually reopening access to critical facilities. Repair and excavation work has accelerated since the ceasefire more than seven weeks ago.

The report also noted that Iran has repaired roads damaged in the strikes, with satellite imagery showing that many bomb craters have been filled and some roadways repaved.

Lair said the campaign illustrated the difference between tactical and strategic outcomes, arguing that while the strikes temporarily disrupted Iran’s missile operations, they may not have achieved a lasting strategic effect.

CNN further reported that Iran and the United States have reached a tentative agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, although negotiations over implementation remain ongoing. Analysts warned that if hostilities resume, Iran could still retain significant missile-launch capabilities despite previous efforts to weaken its arsenal.

Asked about CNN’s findings, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell did not address the specific assessment. Instead, he reiterated an earlier statement, saying the US military remains fully prepared to carry out operations whenever directed by the president.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said its air defence systems are currently intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks targeting the country's airspace, reported Al Jazeera.

The military added that any explosions heard by residents are the result of air defence operations aimed at intercepting incoming projectiles. No further details were immediately provided.

US President Donald Trump has rejected media reports questioning the nuclear provisions of his proposed agreement with Iran, insisting the framework clearly prevents Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized coverage by CNN, saying reports had wrongly suggested that the deal did not address nuclear issues.

“Fake News CNN said today, routinely, that my Iran Nuclear Deal doesn't talk about Nuclear, when actually it states, very clearly, that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote.

He argued that the draft agreement goes beyond a simple prohibition on nuclear weapons and includes extensive provisions aimed at addressing broader nuclear-related concerns. According to Trump, most of the agreement is devoted to these issues.

His remarks come days after he described the proposed accord as largely finalized. However, reports indicate that Trump has since returned the draft for significant revisions, prolonging negotiations and adding uncertainty to diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions with Iran.

US secretary of state Marco Rubio held separate discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding ongoing diplomatic efforts between Israel and Lebanon, a US official said.

According to the official, Washington has proposed an initial de-escalation framework under which Hezbollah would cease all attacks on Israel, while Israel would refrain from expanding military operations in Beirut.

The official added that President Aoun sought to advance the proposal, but Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri argued that Israel should first halt its attacks, saying the responsibility lies with Israel to stop “shooting first.”

Israeli forces killed at least 12 people and wounded 35 others in more than 36 attacks across southern Lebanon on Sunday, according to Al Jazeera.

Hezbollah said it had downed an Israeli Hermes 450 drone over the western sector of southern Lebanon on Sunday evening, claiming the aircraft was struck with a surface-to-air missile at around 7:30 pm local time.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the Iran-backed Lebanese group said the operation was carried out in response to what it described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement. Israel has not immediately commented on the claim.

US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained 2.5 per cent to $89.60 a barrel, while Brent crude for August delivery rose about 2.2 per cent to $93.16 a barrel.

The rebound came after oil prices fell more than 11 per cent last week on expectations that a potential peace agreement could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments.

However, sentiment shifted over the weekend after The New York Times and other US media outlets reported that President Donald Trump had returned a draft memorandum of understanding to Tehran with several tougher negotiating demands, casting doubt on the prospects of a near-term agreement.

Qatar has strongly criticised Israel's expanding military operations in southern Lebanon, calling them a dangerous escalation and a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and international humanitarian law. The condemnation came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israeli forces had captured Beaufort Castle, crossed the Litani River, and would deepen operations against Hezbollah. Doha urged the international community to pressure Israel to halt its offensive, while also engaging with Lebanon through diplomatic channels to address the worsening regional security and humanitarian situation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would deepen its operations in Lebanon after troops captured the medieval Beaufort Castle, describing the move as "a dramatic stage and a dramatic shift in the policy we are leading."

"Now my directive is to deepen and expand our hold in places that were under Hezbollah's control," Netanyahu said in a video statement.

The development comes amid escalating clashes between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. Hezbollah said it targeted Israeli forces near Beaufort and military positions in northern Israel.

Meanwhile, the UN Security Council is set to hold an emergency meeting on Monday over Israel's expanding offensive. Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah said Beaufort was "a national archaeological site" and "was not a military site for the resistance," criticising the raising of the Israeli flag over the fortress.

Iran's chief negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran will not back any agreement with Washington unless Iranian rights are fully protected.

"We will not approve any agreement until we are certain that the rights of the Iranian people have been upheld," Ghalibaf said, amid reports that US President Donald Trump has sought tougher terms in a draft deal.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has said he can "guarantee a full, comprehensive and immediate commitment to a ceasefire" by Hezbollah, but questioned whether Israel would halt its military operations. Speaking to Lebanon's National News Agency, Berri asked who would ensure that Israel ends its attacks by land, sea and air, as well as the destruction of villages and homes. Berri is among Lebanon's most influential Shia political leaders.
