WAGAH, Pakistan: Pakistani border guards have arrested two men on suspicion of links to India''s spy agency, saying they believed the men were planning to gather information about "sensitive installations" in Pakistan, a spokesman for Pakistan''s paramilitary rangers said on Friday.
The suspects Tariq Ahmed and Mohammed Aslam, both Pakistanis, were arrested yesterday after they crossed into the eastern border town of Wagah from India, Col Sher Zaman told reporters.
Zaman said authorities also seized 76 bottles of Indian liquor from the men.
"We are interrogating them and everything will be clear in a few days," Zaman said.
He gave no other details and provided no evidence to support his claim that the men were spies.
The men, who were present at the press conference, denied the spying charges.
"We are smugglers ... we have never worked against our country," Aslam said.
