Afghanistan: Hasan Akhund appointed acting PM, Mullah Baradar to be deputy PM, say Taliban

NEW DELHI:

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund

has been appointed as the acting Prime Minister in the new government in Afghanistan, Taliban spokesman announced on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, spokesman

Zabihullah Mujahid

said that Taliban co-founder Abdul Ghani Baradar will be the deputy Prime Minister.

"Sarajuddin Haqqani is appointed acting interior minister. Amir Khan Muttaqi has been appointed as foreign minister. Abas Stanikzai will be the deputy foreign minister in new afghan government," Mujahid said.

Mullah

Hasan Akhund

headed the Taliban government in Kabul during the last years of its rule.
