Hindu woman stabbed to death over money dispute in Bangladesh

DHAKA: A 45-year-old woman, Chumki Rani Das, was killed by a group of people allegedly over a monetary dispute in Khagrachhari town in Chittagong division, according to police.

Her neighbour Md. Rasel (22), who borrowed Tk 90,000 (Rs 63,771) from her son Pranta and is a suspect in the case, was arrested Friday, police said, adding that the dispute arose after Rasel, an auto-rickshaw driver, failed to return the money. Miscreants had entered Chumki's house Thursday night, stabbed her to death, and decamped with her necklace and earrings, police said.
