According to the Election Commission of Nepal, the RSP has secured 18 seats and is leading in 99 others. The Nepali Congress has won four seats and is ahead in 11 constituencies, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) has won one seat and is leading in 11. The Nepal Communist Party has secured two seats and is ahead in 10 constituencies.
The election follows the ouster of former prime minister KP Sharma Oli after youth-led protests demanding anti-corruption measures, better governance and generational change in politics.
Of the 275 members in the House of Representatives, 165 are elected through direct voting and 110 through proportional representation. About 18.9 million voters were eligible, with turnout estimated at around 60 percent.
