Viral TikTok star Peller appeals to fans for financial help to repair ₦11m Mercedes damage
Famous TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has had to rely on the support of his followers following a road accident that caused severe damage to his Mercedes Benz SUV vehicle. The accident happened in December 2025 on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and attracted a lot of attention due to the fact that the video of the occurrence was on a live stream session. Peller has since returned home and to social media, but the condition of his vehicle is a cause for concern.
During one of his latest live sessions on TikTok, Peller disclosed that it would cost ₦11 million to repair his SUV. He added that this amount is too much for him to handle on his own and thus appealed to his fans. This has elicited different reactions from his fans on social platforms. Some of his fans empathized with him regarding the difficulties he encountered, while others were puzzled by his decision to fundraise.
Peller said the accident has affected him not only financially but also emotionally. He admitted that seeing his damaged SUV has been difficult, especially while recovering from the crash. He asked his fans to contribute if they could, saying he only wants to get the vehicle back on the road. He explained that this support would help him continue his daily life and return fully to creating content.
The crash, which was broadcast live, drew widespread attention and concern. Peller was briefly hospitalized but has taken time off to recover emotionally and physically before returning to social media.
The incident also stirred controversy because Peller had earlier insinuated that the accident was deliberate. Fans and the public had lashed out at him over that statement. Authorities, including the Lagos State Police and the FRSC, warned that legal action could follow over alleged reckless driving.
Social media is a mixed bag of reactions, though some fans offered support and understanding, many debated whether it was apt for a wealthy influencer to call out for help financially.
The appeal by Peller illustrates the different challenges involved in content creation as a viral content creator, other than actually making the content. Despite the criticism he received, he still looks forward to the hope that his fans, those who actually care about him, are going to assist in the cost of repairing his vehicle. This way, he will be able to fix his Mercedes and move beyond the incident.
