The final book by Charlie Kirk has been released after his death, and it is now at the center of public debate. The conservative activist finished writing the book just one month before he was shot and killed in September 2025. His wife, Erika Kirk, has been promoting the book while also stepping into a leadership role at Turning Point USA. The book is titled Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life and was published on December 9, 2025, by Winning Team Publishing.

Since its release, Erika Kirk has gone on a short book tour and made several TV appearances. That visibility led to criticism online, with some people questioning why she returned to public life so soon after her husband’s death. Journalist and podcaster Mary Katharine Ham stepped in to defend Erika Kirk, saying grief does not follow one rule and that working through loss can help healing.

On December 22, 2025, Mary Katharine Ham responded on X to criticism aimed at Erika Kirk. Ham shared her own experience of loss and explained why she supported Erika’s decision to continue her husband’s work.

“Four months after my husband died, and 2 months after I had a baby, I moderated a primary presidential debate. Doing things that are tough, that you believe in, can be healing. An assassin doesn’t get a W by killing Charlie bc she is determined to push his vision forward.”

Erika Kirk has said the same message in her own way during interviews. While on her book tour, she urged Christians to slow down during the holidays and spend time reading her husband’s final work. She also hosted Turning Point USA’s annual America Fest 2025 from December 18 to 21 in Phoenix, Arizona.

To promote the book, Erika Kirk appeared six times on Fox News. Her first interview aired on Hannity on December 8, 2025. The next day, she appeared on Fox & Friends, where she spoke directly about how people judge her grief.

“You get the echo chamber, you get people analyzing everything about you. They think they know everything about you, they know nothing about you.”

She added that Charlie Kirk often reminded her not to answer every critic, saying, “Baby, just stop. Stop. You don’t have to answer to every single person.”

Earlier, on October 10, 2025, Erika Kirk shared a message on Instagram about loss. She wrote that there is “no linear blueprint for grief” and explained how some days she cried, while on other days she played with her children. She also wrote:

“It’s humbling to realize that this magnitude of suffering didn’t steal my love for my husband. It amplified it.”
