Why did IShowSpeed’s cameraman suddenly disappear from the livestreams? What fans did not see during IShowSpeed’s Africa tour
YouTube star Darren IShowSpeed's cameraman and close friend, Slipz, recently got injured. The content creator, also known as Slipperrz, revealed that he suffered a serious nerve and disc-related injury while working on a livestream. The incident happened during IShowSpeed’s ongoing African tour.
Slipz has reassured the fans that he remains committed to his role behind the camera. He explained that the injury occurred while pushing himself physically to successfully complete a demanding rally car and helicopter segment. While he may not appear on camera for a few days, he stressed that his involvement in the livestreams will continue.
On January 11, 2026, Slipz posted an update in IShowSpeed’s official X community, SPEED GANG. He explained that he suffered a fairly severe nerve and disc injury after pushing his body too hard during production work. He said the segment turned out well and added that both he and the team were proud of how smoothly it came together despite the physical cost.
Slipz also told fans that they might not see him much over the next couple of days. However, he made it clear that he is still actively working behind the scenes to ensure all of IShowSpeed’s livestreams run as planned. He described himself as temporarily limited physically but emphasized that his drive and commitment remain unchanged. He added that even after passing out, puking due to dehydration, and losing feeling in his left leg, he still completed the job. His message highlighted resilience and dedication, ending with a promise to return soon.
Fans quickly reacted with heartfelt messages on social media. Many hailed his work ethic and encouraged him to prioritize recovery. Some described him as one of the most dedicated cameramen in the streaming world.
Later the same day, Slipz shared another update to calm growing concerns. He confirmed that his injury did not involve any broken bones. He explained that doctors identified temporary nerve damage on his left leg and internal bruising near his left pelvic area. He made it clear that there was no permanent damage and expressed relief over the diagnosis.
For now, Slipz is focusing on recovery while continuing to support IShowSpeed’s tour from behind the scenes. Fans will remain hopeful to see him fully healthy and back on camera soon.
