Tom Cruise to fund Suri's college education despite years of separation: Report

Tom Cruise will reportedly cover his daughter Suri's college expenses amounting to $65,000 per year as she starts her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University as part of his divorce agreement with his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, reports Daily Mail.

However, now that Suri is 18, Cruise no longer has to pay $400,000 per year as child support to Holmes which he had been providing for Suri’s expenses, including medical and dental care, insurance, education and extracurricular activities. The last time Cruise and Suri were seen together in public was back in April 2013.

Cruise’s decision to pay for Suri's tuition comes from the 2012 separation agreement, where Holmes was given full custody of Suri. As part of the agreement, Cruise agreed to cover all of Suri's educational expenses, including college costs. A friend of Cruise mentioned to the Daily Mail that, "Tom is indeed paying for Suri's tuition; he has always covered her schooling and would never stop, as he is a stand-up guy."

Recently, Suri, now 18, was seen moving into her college dorm with her mother, Katie Holmes, while Cruise was reportedly busy with his helicopter, likely preparing for a new project.

A friend of Cruise also said, "He has never hesitated to pay his daughter's child support and expenses. He does not go back on his word. He is fulfilling his obligation."

Meanwhile, Suri has recently decided to drop her father's last name and now goes by Suri Noelle, taking her mother's middle name instead, which hints at the strained relationship between her and Cruise.

Suri, who looks a lot like her mom, has also been noticed for her fashion style and her relationship with her high school boyfriend, a musician. It's been reported that she will be living in an all-female dormitory at the university.
