Zelenskyy made the remark in an interview, a clip of which was shared by Collin Rugg on the social media platform X. He was responding to the senator's statement that he should resign as president.

"I can give him Ukrainian citizenship, then his voice can start to gain weight," Zelenskyy said. He also said that citizens from other countries telling Ukrainians who should lead Ukraine was undemocratic.

Senator Lindsey Graham, once a strong supporter of Ukraine, had told reporters it was unclear whether the US could continue working with Zelenskyy and suggested he should resign.

This follows a heated meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy in the White House. Zelenskyy had traveled to Washington to secure a deal giving the US access to Ukraine’s mineral resources. However, the meeting took an unexpected turn, leading to the latter being asked to leave.
