Husain, Raza works up for auction online

MUMBAI: Classic artworks by the best known Indian painters are up for online auction on September 7 and 8.
Buyers will bid for 83 lots of exclusive paintings by Indian masters like M F Husain, S H Raza, F N Souza, Ram Kumar, Sakti Burman, Krishen Khanna and Akbar Padamsee as well as contemporary artists like Justin Ponmany, Milburn Cherian and Baiju Parthan.
Online auctioneer AstaGuru.com recently hosted a private preview of the fifth edition of its Modern and Contemporary Indian Art Auction. Since September 1, the paintings have been available for viewing at the Institute of Contemporary Indian Art at Kala Ghoda. They will remain there till the auction ends September 8.
Bidding starts at 10.30am on Sunday, September 7 and will conclude at 9.30pm Monday, September 8. Interested buyers can view the lots on the auctioneer's web site and register online.
AstaGuru.com claims it will donate 1% of the funds collected to support the cause of preventable blindness.
