NEW DELHI: Get ready for the Kapil Dev show. On paper this time. The legendary cricketer has written his autobiography which is called Straight from the Heart and which was released by his mother Raj Nikhanj here on Monday.
The book, published by McMillan India, has 400 pages of what must be riveting stuff given that the author has played India''s most popular sport as an icon.
Besides, the controversies that have crept into his life lately and the ensuing struggle to protect his image and honour would surely have resulted in some throbbing chapters.
Kapil told the media that it was Sahara chief Subrat Roy who convinced him about writing the book. ''''Mr Roy told me since so much was being written about me it was high time I put forward my views too." Kapil said he had not minced words when writing about those who had criticised him in the wake of the match fixing scam.
