MUMBAI: The Bombay high court will hear an appeal filed by actor
Shiney Ahuja against his conviction in a rape case in the third week of August.
A fast-track court convicted Ahuja for raping his maid in March 2012.
The actor has been on bail since last year. He sought an early hearing “so that justice be granted” and that he clear his name. His appeal points at various inconsistencies in the trial court verdict and the prosecution’s case against him.
The trial court judge “wrongly arrived at a guilty verdict” his appeal stated.
