Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still active, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all from leads. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on tally, with 11 seats won and 168 leads putting it at 179 overall, if those leads hold. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, where 16 is the majority mark, with 13 seats already declared in its favour and 5 leads, placing it ahead of the majority threshold on tally. SPA stands at a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 in the 140-seat assembly, with 68 seats won and 19 leads, comfortably past the majority mark of 71 on tally if those leads hold. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
