Political tensions in West Bengal have escalated after the Trinamool Congress alleged that BJP-backed miscreants vandalised its party office in Jalpaiguri’s Ward 14. The TMC termed the incident a deliberate attempt to create unrest and accused the BJP of exposing its “true face.” The row intensified further after claims that a Maniktala ward president, reportedly a cancer patient, was brutally attacked. Reacting to the controversy, West Bengal BJP President Suvendu Adhikari acknowledged that some individuals carrying BJP flags were involved in vandalism but strongly condemned the acts. He stated that the party would take strict action, including expulsion, against those responsible and urged workers to maintain peace. With both sides trading serious allegations, concerns over political violence and law and order in the state continue to grow.
