Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 won and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats, all in leads with no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179, comprising 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, holding a tally of 18 with 13 seats won and 5 leads still in progress. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 7 in Puducherry, with 5 won and 2 leading. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly, with a tally of 87 comprising 68 won and 19 leading. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala, with 13 won and 4 leading.
