Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the union territory of Puducherry, with leads still shifting in several contests. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55 with no seats declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on current leads, holding a tally of 179 across the 294-seat house, with 11 seats won and leads in 168 more. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, where 16 seats are needed for a majority in the 30-seat assembly, NDA is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark if those leads hold, with 13 seats won and 5 more in hand for a tally of 18. SPA has a tally of 5, while candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 7 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly, holding a tally of 87 with 68 seats already won and leads in 19 more. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
