Apple Music app for Android is out of beta
NEW DELHI: Apple Music app for Android has finally made an exit from the ‘Beta’ version. Launched in June 2015, the app now sits at version 1.0 and packs some Android-only features.
The Apple Music app update on Android adds equalizer settings, allowing users to take better control of their music. “This update includes equalizer settings and a variety of performance, playback, and stability improvements,” says the official changelog. The updated app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The app first arrived on Android in November 2015.
In May, the Cupertino giant announced a new plan for its Apple Music streaming service to boost its subscriber list. The company introduced the Apple Music Student plan, which gives 50% discount on the service to students from select colleges and universities. So far, the plan is not available to Apple Music users in India.
However, this may change as Apple is increasing its focus on the Indian market. The company’s market development lead for App Store, Apple Music and iTunes, Khushboo Ponwar, was reportedly recently asked to focus solely on India.
In February, Apple claimed that it has a total of 11 million music subscribers and that some 750 million transactions take place on the App Store and iTunes Store per week.
Apple Music is a music streaming service developed by Apple. The service includes the blog platform Connect, which allows the artists to share their posts, photos, videos and tracks with fans as well as a Radio service which incorporates some aspects of iTunes Radio. The service provides music recommendations based on users’ taste and is integrated with the company’s digital assistant Siri.
