2026 Tata Tiago, Tiago EV launch tomorrow: What to expect
Tata Motors is all set to launch the new 2026 Tata Tiago and Tiago EV in the Indian market tomorrow i.e, May, 28 2026. Both models will feature an all-new exterior design, a new interior, added features, and improved dynamics; mechanical changes are also expected. Ahead of the official launch tomorrow, let’s take a look at everything we know so far.
Tata Tiago ICE
Talking about the ICE model first, it’s expected to get a new variant lineup, with prices starting from Rs 4.8 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the prices for the outgoing model range from Rs 4.60 lakh to Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 and other similarly priced hatchbacks. The 2026 Tata Tiago is expected to continue with the same engine and transmission options from the current model. It includes a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with 86 hp of power. In CNG mode, the power drops to 75.5hp. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
Design-wise, the Tata Tiago receives major styling revisions for 2026, especially at the front and rear. The hatchback now features slimmer LED headlamps paired with eyebrow-style daytime running lights, while the front bumper gets a contrasting black finish along with newly designed pixel-pattern fog lamps. On the sides, the Tiago gets a fresh set of alloy wheels, blacked-out wheel arch cladding and updated ORVMs with integrated cameras. At the rear, it gets a new connected LED tail-lamp setup and a redesigned bumper with a larger black insert that now accommodates the reverse lamp.
Moving inside, the 2026 Tiago gets a reworked cabin layout with a more upright dashboard design. The interior continues with a dual-tone black and light grey finish but now includes a standalone driver’s display and a revised two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata emblem. It gets a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and the ‘TIAGO’ branding on the dashboard has been repositioned lower near the climate control section.
It gets features such as a 360-degree camera system and dual wireless charging pads for smartphones. The AMT version will additionally offer paddle shifters. Other expected features include a six-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox and more. Expected safety features include six airbags, ABS, TPMS, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Tata Tiago EV
Talking about the Tiago EV, it’s also expected to get a new variant lineup with prices expected to start from Rs 8.2 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the current model is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata could also introduce a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model. The current model is offered with two battery options - a 19.2kWh unit and a larger 24kWh pack paired with a single electric motor producing 61hp and 75 hp, respectively. Tata claims driving ranges of 223km for the smaller battery version and 293km for the larger one. With the facelift, the Tiago EV could receive upgraded battery technology offering better energy density and improved range.
