Kia Seltos achieves 5-Star BNCAP rating: Becomes best-scoring ICE car
The new Kia Seltos has secured a full five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The SUV has delivered near-perfect results, securing 31.70 out of 32 for adult protection and 45 out of 49 for child safety. This result also makes the Seltos the highest-scoring internal combustion engine (ICE) model evaluated under Bharat NCAP. Bharat NCAP based its assessment on the diesel-automatic HTE(O) and GTX variants, with the rating applicable to all versions of the model.

In the frontal impact, the driver received ‘good’ protection for the head, chest, pelvis, thighs and right tibia, while both feet and the left tibia were rated ‘adequate’. All key body regions of the co-driver were rated ‘good’. In side impact tests, including the movable deformable barrier and pole assessments, protection for critical areas such as the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis was rated ‘good’ for both occupants.
Child occupant protection (COP) results: 45/49
The SUV scored 45 out of 49 in the child occupant protection assessment, with full marks in dynamic performance (24/24) and CRS installation (12/12), while the vehicle assessment score stood at 9 out of 13.
