Bigg Boss 8: Why Farah is a perfect replacement for Salman

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Farah Khan has accepted the baton from Salman Khan to host a new series of Bigg Boss that will pit the five champions of Season 8 against five challengers from the past. The show titled Bigg Boss Halla Bol will have a grand finale on January 31, the report states. She argues that except for Urvashi Dholakia and Gauahar Khan, many of the winners were too goody goody for her liking. “It was the Rakhi Sawants, Sambhavana Seths, Dolly Bindras, Pooja Mishras, Mahek Chahals and Rahul Mahajans who gave the show its masala. I've always wondered what it would be like to watch Dolly and Rakhi in the house together," the report quoted Farah.

Farah, who wants to be an impartial host, admits about Gautam Gulati being her favourite. Here are some more revelations from the new host...

Bigg Boss 8: Why Farah is a perfect replacement for Salman

Farah will ensure SRK watches BB8: According to a report on Pinkvilla.com, Farah Khan was quoted as saying that though Shah Rukh Khan didn't watch Bigg Boss, she would ensure he does once she starts hosting the show. According to reports, the decision has been taken due to Salman Khan's unavailability during the extended period. Reportedly, Salman Khan will be busy with Bajrangi Bhaijaan in January and cannot commit further dates to the show. As per a report on Pinkvilla.com, the director has confessed that she is an ardent follower of the show. Farah has also been quoted in the report as saying that she was a huge fan of Bigg Boss and tweeted about the show all the time. She also confessed that she follows all the contestants and is thrilled to be hosting the show.

While this is reason enough to rejoice, we analyse why Farah Khan would be the perfect host to replace Salman Khan.

Not scared of speaking her mind: Actor, director, filmmaker Farah Khan is known for her outspoken nature. The fact that she is outspoken makes her fit to be the Bigg Boss host as the show demands one who is fearless and speaks up what he/she feels without being biased. Farah has maintained her fearless image in the industry and is somewhat similar to Salman Khan when it comes to tackling someone in public. Her outspoken 'bindaas' personality makes her a perfect host who can give the needed masala to the audience.

Chances of Shah Rukh appearing on the show increase: With Farah hosting the show, Shah Rukh Khan's chances of making an appearance on Bigg Boss increase. The reason why he never appeared on the show earlier is known to all and why he will grace the show when dear friend Farah Khan hosts it is too obvious. It will be great to see the Badshah of Bollywood on Bigg Boss. Though there are no awaited releases for the actor as of now, he may just drop in as one of his legendary movies Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge recently completed 1000 weeks of success. Who arrives and who doesn't is something to wait and watch.

Good terms with Salman Khan: Farah Khan and Salman Khan share a good rapport with each other. The channel has played very smart to replace Salman Khan with Farah as they both will not create any issues in the long run. Replacing Salman with another Bollywood actor would have been a drastic change which audiences might have not accepted, but seeing Farah for a month would be somewhat acceptable to the audiences. With the assurance that they are going to see Salman as host of the show next season, they would accept Farah for the time being at least.

Had done a show with Colors earlier: The chances of Colors roping in Farah Khan as their new Bigg Boss host increase, as she has earlier judged a reality show India's Got Talent with the channel. And as per the Colors' trend, the channel always gives preferences to those who had once been a part of their Colors family earlier. And we are sure with Farah's witty conversations and comments, the show is going to grab eyeballs.

Bigg Boss - not her debut on TV: Before Farah made headlines for being the new Bigg Boss host for a month, she had a huge history with TV reality shows. Farah Khan not only made appearances on popular TV shows, but has also judged reality shows like Indian Idol, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star, Nach Baliye, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Dance India Dance to name a few. So for Farah Khan, hosting a reality show would definitely not be a new thing. Till now we are sure she must be used to all the TV jazz and would handle the platform more confidently.

Popularity: Farah Khan is a renowned personality from the industry and people from all walks of life know her. That makes her the best contender to replace Salman for a month. As she has earlier judged shows on TV, she is not a new face for the TV audiences either. The bottom line is that Farah is popular on small screen. On the other hand, she has given a blockbuster Happy New Year recently, which took her to another level of fame. She will be making her presence felt for the first time after giving a hit. Undoubtedly, this huge popularity will help audience to connect with the new host.

Follows Bigg Boss: Only the one who religiously follows the show would ideally be the best person to host the show, as he/she can ask questions or clarify things in the Weekend ka Wow episode. And as per reports in India Today Farah is a religious follower of Bigg Boss. So she can make for a perfect host being updated about all the happening in the house.

Bigg Boss 8: Why Farah is a perfect replacement for Salman

Active on social networking sites: Unlike Salman, Farah is more active on social networking site. Obviously she will be more vocal on social networking sites about the show and also with the latest updates while shooting for the show. Or she might just share some special moments from the sets. This will prove an added advantage for the makers and the channel as they will receive the needed publicity. And everyone knows how social networking sites play an important role in publicity.
