HYDERABAD: BRS working president and minister
KT Rama Rao on Sunday said the people of Telangana, looking at how farmers of Karnataka were suffering, have realised that the state will plunge into darkness if they give their votes to
Congress Referring to the speech of Karnataka deputy chief minister
D K Shivakumar, who, while campaigning for Congress candidates in Vikarabad district on Saturday, had said that the Congress was giving five-hour power supply to farmers in Karnataka,
KTR said: “Telangana is the only state in the country which is giving 24x7 power supply to the agriculture sector.”
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state Gujarat was not extending round the clock power supply to agriculture.
“Isn’t it shameful that aCongress leader from a neighbouring state is talking about a five-hour power supply in astate which is giving 24 hours power supply. It only reflects the incompetence of party,” KTR said in a post on ‘X’.
On Shivakumar’s challenge to visit Karnataka to see how Congress was implementing all its poll promises, KTR said there was no need to go as the farmers from Karnataka had come to Telangana and narrated their plight. These farmers also warned Telangana farmers about the power supply crisis in Karnataka.
The BRS working president blamed it on Congress for communal tensions in the undivided state and appealed to the people not to get misled by the promises being made by Congress. Addressing booth-level committee coordinators of the party in the LB Nagar assembly constituency, KTR said a stable government and an able leadership were essential for welfare and development to continue in Telangana. Metro rail network would be extended from Nagole to LB Nagar and later to Pedda Amberpet, besides operating Metro services from LB Nagar to Shamshabad.
Congress has at least six to seven chief ministerial candidates, including veteran K Jana Reddy, who is not even contesting in the ensuing election. “The BRS government will not only continue all its welfare schemes, but, after scoring a hat-trick of victories, will give a gas cylinder at ₹400, fine rice through ration shops, KCR Bima — in all 15 guarantees — under the KCR Bharosa programme for the poor,” he added.
KTR called upon the young brigade, students wing, of the party to effectively counter the misleading campaign being done by BJP on social media and post selfies and reels of the development works and projects on social media platforms. The previous Congress government filled up 24,000 jobs between 2004 and 2014, whereas the BRS government completed filling up 1.3 lakh jobs and 90,000 jobs were at various stages of being filled up.
