Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme

Policies such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme have attracted investments worth Rs 1.76 lakh crore, with cumulative production reaching Rs 16.5 lakh crore. Electronics exports surge 8x

India’s electronics exports surged eight-fold from Rs 38,000 crore to Rs 3.27 lakh crore. Mobile phone exports skyrocketed 132 times, from Rs 1,500 crore to over Rs 2 lakh crore, making India the world’s second-largest mobile phone manufacturer. Overall electronics production rose sharply from Rs 1.9 lakh crore to Rs 11.3 lakh crore, highlighting India’s emergence as a global electronics manufacturing hub. (Image credits: AI)

India rail footprint expands

Over 150 Vande Bharat trains are currently operating across India. Made-in-India metro coaches are being exported to Australia and Canada, while propulsion systems are reaching France, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and Italy, highlighting India’s expanding influence in global rail technology.

Semiconductor projects underway

The Vikram 32-bit microprocessor, supported by Rs 76,000 crore in investments for fabs, design hubs, and ten semiconductor projects. Advanced packaging and testing (OSAT) capacity grew 45%, establishing India in the global semiconductor race.

Domestic innovation in medicine

Toy imports down 52%

India now produces 400 million toys annually, exporting to 153 countries. Implementation of strict BIS quality and safety standards has reduced toy imports by 52% between 2014–15 and FY23. Made-in-India toys are increasingly capturing international markets while also strengthening the domestic toy industry.

Defence exports to 100+ countries

India is now exporting defence equipment to over 100 countries. In FY25, defence production reached Rs 1,50,590 crore, with 65% of equipment manufactured domestically, strengthening India’s strategic self-reliance and global defence footprint. (Image credits: AI)

Renewable manufacturing scales rapidly

India’s renewable energy manufacturing has scaled rapidly, with solar PV capacity surpassing 100 GW, reinforcing the country’s position as a global clean energy leader.
