Big Boost! 8 New High-Speed National Highway Corridors Approved!

New National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects! In a big boost for national highway connectivity, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs led by PM Modi has approved the development of 8 important National High-Speed road corridor projects! The total cost of the projects is estimated to be Rs 50,655 crore. These include Agra - Gwalior corridor, Ayodhya Ring Road, Kanpur Ring Road projects and more! With the Agra-Gwalior national highway project, the travel time between the two cities will reduce by 50%! Agra - Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor

Agra - Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor: The upcoming 88-km high-speed corridor connecting Agra and Gwalior will be a fully access-controlled 6-lane corridor with a total capital cost of Rs 4,613 crore. The new corridor will improve connectivity to popular tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh, such as the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, as well as Gwalior Fort in Madhya Pradesh. Kharagpur - Moregram National High-Speed Corridor

Kharagpur - Moregram National High-Speed Corridor: The 4-lane high-speed corridor spanning 231 kilometers between Kharagpur and Moregram will be constructed at a total capital cost of Rs 10,247 crore. This access-controlled corridor will complement the existing 2-lane national highway, increasing the traffic capacity by approximately 5 times between the two cities. Tharad - Deesa - Mehsana - Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor

Tharad - Deesa - Mehsana - Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor: The upcoming 214-km 6-Lane high-speed corridor, connecting Tharad and Ahmedabad, will be constructed at an estimated total capital cost of Rs 10,534 crore. This corridor will serve as a vital link between two significant national corridors in Gujarat: the Amritsar - Jamnagar Corridor and the Delhi - Mumbai Expressway. Ayodhya Ring Road

Ayodhya Ring Road: The Ayodhya Ring Road, spanning 68 kilometers with 4 lanes and access control, will be constructed at a total capital cost of Rs 3,935 crore. This Ring Road is designed to alleviate traffic congestion on several national highways that pass through Ayodhya, including NH 27 (East West Corridor), NH 227 A, NH 227B. NH 330, NH 330A, and NH 135A. In addition to benefiting pilgrims, the Ayodhya Ring Road will also provide efficient connectivity for national and international tourists arriving at Lucknow International Airport, Ayodhya Airport, and the city's major railway stations. Pathalgaon and Gumla Section of Raipur-Ranchi National Highspeed Corridor

Pathalgaon and Gumla Section of Raipur-Ranchi National Highspeed Corridor: The Raipur - Ranchi Corridor will see the development of the 137-km 4-lane access-controlled Pathalgaon - Gumla section, which will be constructed at an estimated total capital cost of Rs 4,473 crore. This section will significantly improve connectivity between the mining areas situated in Gumla, Lohardaga, Raigarh, Korba, and Dhanbad. Kanpur Ring Road

Kanpur Ring Road: The Kanpur Ring Road project, spanning 47 kilometers, will feature a 6-lane access-controlled section developed with a total capital investment of Rs 3,298 crore. Northern Guwahati Bypass

Northern Guwahati Bypass: The Guwahati Ring Road, spanning 121 kilometers, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5,729 crore, and it will be divided into three sections. The first section will be a 4-lane access-controlled Northern Guwahati Bypass (56 km). The second section involves widening of the existing 4-lane bypass on NH 27 to 6 lanes (8 km). The third section focuses on the improvement of existing bypass on NH 27 (58 km). The primary objective of the Guwahati Ring Road is to facilitate uninterrupted connectivity for long-distance traffic traveling on National Highway 27, also known as the East West Corridor, which serves as the main entry point to the North-East Region of India. Elevated Nashik Phata - Khed Corridor near Pune

Elevated Nashik Phata - Khed Corridor near Pune: This National High-Speed Corridor, spanning 30 kilometers from Nashik Phata to Khed near Pune, will be constructed as an 8-lane elevated roadway. The project will be executed with a total estimated cost of Rs 7,827 crore. This elevated corridor is designed to provide uninterrupted high-speed connectivity for traffic coming from or heading towards the industrial hubs of Chakan, Bhosari, and other areas along NH-60 between Pune and Nashik.
