Tanishq
is looking towards consolidation, with merging the gold plus outlets.
"In rural
south India
, where gold plus outlets have more of plain gold jewellery, the stores would now have more varieties of studded jewellery, belonging to the Tanishq portfolio," said Biju Alex, regional business head – south.
With a focus on expanding its large format-retailing concept, Tanishq on Friday also announced the re-launch of their showroom in Velachery here.
The showroom is spread across 3,000 sqft carpet area and has an array of grand and wedding jewelry in gold, kundan, polki and diamonds to contemporary jewelry.
Alex is also bullish about Tanishq gaining a bigger
market share
in the south. The brand currently has 17 outlets in Tamil Nadu and 7 in Chennai.
