Farmers observed a sit-in at Dhareri Jattan Toll Plaza which affected vehicular movement on the Patiala-Chandigarh National Highway. At Amritsar's Golden Gate, scores of farmers started to assemble near the city's entry point. Dharnas were staged in Bathinda's Rampura Phul. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher told reporters in Amritsar that emergency and other essential services would be allowed to operate. He said anyone travelling to the airport to catch a flight anyone going to attend a job interview, or anyone needing to attend a wedding, will be allowed.

Farmers blocked the Dharedi Jatta Toll Plaza in Patiala and Bauda Gate Chowk in Nabha. No buses of PRTC were plying on the roads, although they had announced a four-hour service shutdown from 10 AM to 2 PM. Private bus operators decided to shut operations from 7 AM to 4 PM. PRTC Employees Union's Harkesh Kumar said that buses were not plying on the roads.

Addressing a press conference, farmer leader Sharvan Singh Pandher stated that the residents of Punjab have extended their support to the statewide shutdown "wholeheartedly" and more than 280 blockades have installed which will disrupt road and rail services in the state.
"The two big organisations, the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and forums Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) have called for bandh. We had appealed 3 crore Punjabis to support Punjab bandh. As per the information I am getting, people have supported this bandh. Since morning, almost 90-99 percent traffic was not on the roads. It means, Punjabis have extended their support to this bandh wholeheartedly. It's a successful 'Punjab Bandh'," Pandher said.
