Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Ma. Extending his greetings to the dignitaries, awardees, representatives of The Times of India, the media fraternity, and healthcare professionals, the Minister emphasised the importance of acknowledging those who serve society with dedication.
He also highlighted the significant role played by government medical institutions, citing Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and Omandurar Multispeciality Hospital as pillars of public healthcare. With thousands of patients accessing care daily, including large volumes of critical and cardiac cases, these institutions stand as powerful examples of accessible and quality healthcare delivery. He saluted doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and support teams across both government and private hospitals for their tireless service, especially in high-pressure environments.
Adding star presence to the evening was actress Malavika Mohanan, who shared insights on leading a healthy lifestyle. Speaking about fitness, she emphasised the importance of staying active in enjoyable ways. She spoke about her practice of Silambam, which she learnt while preparing for her role in Thangalaan, directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring Chiyaan Vikram. Describing it as therapeutic and meditative, she highlighted how regular movement, even for 20 minutes a day, along with home-cooked food whenever possible, plays a crucial role in maintaining overall well-being.
