Agra: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP
on Tuesday performed a ‘Buddhi Shuddhi Yagya’ for what they said was an attempt to “knock sense” into the Agra Police who
on Monday lathicharged BJP members protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation in the city, and mediapersons.
“The yagya was conducted so that divine powers restore some sense to Agra Police, who lathicharged businessmen, party workers and mediapersons after completely failing to control crime in the city,” said Sonu Chaudhary, BJYM district head, talking to TOI.
“We are not scared of unruly practices adopted by Agra Police. The administration has become totally corrupt and insensitive. The violent action taken against peaceful protestors and mediapersons is highly condemnable. BJYM will not tolerate violence and will continue to raise voice against injustice,” said BJYM media head Shivam Pachori.
Meanwhile, the women’s wing of BJP, protesting against a remark made by Inspector General of Police
on Monday, protested on MG Road
on Tuesday. The senior officer had advised women protestors at his office
on Monday that “women of good families do not enter politics”.
“The IG’s remark is an insult to all female party workers. Such officials must be removed,” said Sandhya Joshi of BJP Mahila Morcha.
