AGRA: Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha national secretary Puja Shakun Pandey and her husband Ashok Pandey were arrested early Wednesday morning for shooting at an effigy of
Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary on January 30.
Confirming this, SSP Aligarh Aakash Kulhari said that both were arrested from Tappal area around 7am. "They will be produced before the court today," said the SSP.
Earlier, seven activists of the Hindu Mahasabha were arrested in the same case and three of them were granted bail by the court. Two persons are still absconding.
On Wednesday, a case was registered under relevant sections of IPC against Hindu Mahasabha’s national secretary Puja Shakun Pandey, Ashok Pandey and nine others. The incident took place outside the Hindu Mahasabha office under Gandhi Park police station area in Aligarh.
