AHMEDABAD: A team of Paldi police arrested three youths for driving away with a cab, after booking it, from near Dharnidhar Crossroads on October 25. Primary investigation point towards possible joyride as reason for the theft.
According to Paldi police, Jagdish Odh, 40, a resident of Narannagar, Naroda, works as a driver with a radio cab company. On October 25, he was hired by three youths to go to Gandhinagar.
When they reached Dharnidhar crossroads, the trio asked Odh to stop the car for having tea at 4.45pm.
“At that time, Odh went to a nearby medical store to get medicines for headache. When he returned, the car was missing and the three youths were also not there. Local shopkeepers told him that they had driven off with the vehicle,” said a Paldi police official.
Paldi police stopped the stolen car near Mahalaxmi Crossroads at 11.30pm on October 28 and arrested Jalveer Makwana, 23, Jeet Raval, 19, both residents of Vejalpur and Anil Nayak, 21, a resident of Sanand.
